Paul A. Howson's Obituary
Paul A. Howson, 75, of Camanche passed away Friday, July 31, 2026 at his home.
Celebration of Life will be held August 15, 2026 from 1-5 at Poor House Tap.
Paul Allen Howson was born February 8, 1951 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Dwayne and Helen (Nielsen) Howson. He was a 1969 graduate of DeWitt High School. He served in the Army National Guard from 1970-1976. He married Ida Nelson on August 5, 1995. He worked at Eastern Iowa Propane for 7 years and then worked for Clinton Feed & Grain for many years when he retired in 2016. He farmed in the Low Moor area for many years. In retirement he worked for McManus Trucking from 2016 to 2025.
Paul was a member of the Low Moor United Methodist Church. He enjoyed boating, camping and competing in truck pulls. More than anything he enjoyed time spent with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Ida Howson of Camanche; four children: Stephen (Dawn) Alm of Camanche, Jennifer (Paul) Engaldo of Bloomer, Wisconsin, Jeff Alm of Clinton and Kristopher (Michelle Ponce) Howson of Erie, Illinois; six grandchildren: Brittany (Brady), Hunter (Taylor), Trenton (Morgan), Izabella, Rylan and Paxtyn; two great grandchildren: Hoyt and Carver; sister Connie (Ken) Schnoor of Long Grove, Iowa and their family; and brother-in-law: Greg (Cathy) Nelson of Camanche and their families. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and sister-in-law Leona Cook.
