Paul Harding's Obituary
Paul L. Harding, 85, of Clinton, IA, died Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at Harbor Crest Nursing Home in Fulton, IL. Services will be held at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory on Saturday, May 17, 2008 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig on Friday May 16, 2008 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Burial will be in the Springdale Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Noel Harding, Matt Harding, Ryan Duncan, Troy Harding, Nathan Duncan, George Sukkar, Rodney Haack and Andy Bosworth.
Paul was born on April 2, 1923, in Baldwin, IA, the son of Edward and Etta (Downer) Harding. He was a Baldwin, Iowa High School graduate. Paul married Dolores Nabb on July 9, 1948 in Bellevue, Iowa. He was a WWII United States Navy veteran. Paul worked for 38 years at E. I. DuPont, retiring in 1985, he had also been employed with the Quad City Times and Super Wash. He was a member First United Methodist Church, the AMVETS and the American Legion. Paul was a people person and loved his pet ?Maggie?. He enjoyed watching auto racing and was an avid Hawkeye fan.
Survivors include his wife, Dolores Harding of Clinton, IA; sons, Robert (Jane) Harding of Clinton; Ronald (Laura) Harding of Clinton; and Jerry Harding of Oak Park, MI; daughters, Deb (Bob) Duncan of Camanche; and Sherri (Jon) Wilkinson of Clinton; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Margaret Tubbs, Florence Hollingshead and Phyllis Wood. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 6 sisters. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to First United Methodist Church.
