Patricia T. Schmidt's Obituary
Pat Schmidt, 73, of Fulton, passed away Saturday, September 23, 2017 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics – Iowa City, Iowa.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 AM Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Clinton, Iowa. A gathering of family and friends will be 9-10 AM Saturday at the church. Patricia T. Stevenson was born on June 29, 1944 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of John and Mary (Donley) Stevenson. She graduated from Northeast High School in Goose Lake in 1962. She was united in marriage to Darrell Schmidt on June 15, 1963 at Assumption Catholic Church in Charlotte, Iowa. She had been employed at Nielsen Clearing House, East Central and Clinton schools, and Mercy Medical Center. In her early days Pat was in 4-H and was a Cub Scout and Brownie leader. She was a member of the Fulton Country Club and the Fulton Ladies Golf Association for many years. She volunteered for Mercy Auxiliary and the Fulton Windmill and Cultural Center. She was also an active member of Prince of Peace Parish. Upon retirement, she and her husband spent many winters as “snowbirds” in Arizona and Florida. She enjoyed golfing, playing cards and bunco, and visiting “snowbird friends” in the summer. She loved spending time with her family, friends, and especially her grandchildren, following them in all their sports and activities.
Survivors include her husband, Darrell of Fulton; her children: Stephen (Cindy) Schmidt of Wauconda, Illinois and Lisa (Bryan) Ringen of Iowa City, Iowa; two grandchildren: Megan and Nile; two brothers: John (Marilyn) Stevenson of Lost Nation, Iowa, and Tom (Kelly) Stevenson of Maquoketa, Iowa; two sisters: Margaret Mohr of Green Island, Iowa, and Marilyn Hoffmann of Charlotte, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a sister.
