Patricia Outzen's Obituary
Patricia A. Outzen, 91, of Clinton, passed away, Saturday, July 2, 2022 at the Alverno – Clinton.
Funeral Mass will be 11:00 am, July 8, 2022 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Clinton. Private burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery following services. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory.
Patricia Ann Sazma was born on July 12, 1930 in Clinton, the daughter of Thomas and Elsie (Oake) Sazma. She attended a one room school in Mt. Carroll and attended high school in Mt. Carroll for one year before transferring to Mt. St. Clare Academy graduating in 1948. She also attended a year at Mt. St. Clare College. She married Arnold Outzen on May 27, 1950 in Clinton; he died January 24, 2022.
Pat was a telephone switchboard operator and an elevator operator at the Wilson Building. Later in life she worked at Gazardo’s Book Nook. She was a long-time parishioner of St. Mary’s and then Prince of Peace serving on various committees. She delivered for Meals on Wheels for many years and was an alumni of the Citizens Police Academy for 20 years. She was also active with the Clinton Art Association, Clinton Women’s Club, Clinton County Democratic Central Committee, Holiday Network and Desert Storm Support Group. She loved photography, quilting, spinning, and weaving.
Pat is survived by her children: Barbara “Karen” (Jeff) Ross of Adair, Oregon, Michael Outzen of Clinton, Mark (Pam) Outzen of LaCrosse, Wisconsin, Patricia (Craig) Bieber of Muscatine, Paul (Mary) Outzen of Clinton, John (Lynne) Outzen of LeClaire, Iowa, Phillip (Kathleen) Outzen of Decatur, Illinois and Robert (Lisa) Outzen of Fulton; 22 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; a sister: Barbara (Gene) Green of Clinton; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Suzanne Outzen, daughter-in-law: Teresa Outzen, and a sister: Beverly Price.
