Patricia Gertson's Obituary
Patricia J. Gertson, 64, of Clinton, died Thursday, October 6, 2011 at her home surrounded by her loving family. There will be no services or visitation. The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory is in charge of arrangements. Patricia Joan Hoover was born on May 4, 1947 in South Bend, Indiana, the daughter of Ralph and Erma (Canen) Hoover. She married Michael Gertson on September 30, 1966 in LaPorte, Indiana. She graduated from Mason City High School and attended Clinton Community College. She was employed with AC Nielsen Company for 10 years and was also a homemaker. She enjoyed gambling at the casino, fishing, and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband: Michael of Clinton; two daughters: Deborah (Jeff) Huizenga of Davenport, Iowa, and Michelle Curran of Clinton; two grandchildren: Claire Huizenga and Alec Curran; her twin sister: Pamela Berry of Clinton; two brothers: Todd (Bonnie) Hoover of South Bend, Indiana and Rodney (Lori) Hoover of Farmington Hills, Michigan; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society.
