Pam Sullivan's Obituary
Pamela “Pam” Sullivan, 74, of Camanche passed away Thursday, January 18, 2024 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics – Iowa City, Iowa, surrounded by her loving family.

Pam was born on September 26, 1949 in Clinton, the daughter of Kenneth and Mary (Lawlor) Vogel. She was a 1968 graduate of St. Mary’s High School. She attended nursing school for a short time but decided to put it on hold and married Steven M. Sullivan on January 3rd, 1970, they later divorced. During the early years, she was employed with the telephone company, Clinton Corn, The Frontier, and Food Bonanza. She decided to return to college to finish her nursing degree. Throughout her nursing career, she was passionate about long-term care and worked at a few local long-term care facilities over the years and retired in 2018.
Pam had a very strong work ethic and was always on the go. She loved walking and for forty years, she had the same walk route amongst the town of Camanche. She also had a love for animals and owned numerous dogs over the years and would out walk them as she would walk 2-3 times a day.
When she wasn’t working or walking, she was spending time with her daughter Stephanie, who was her pride and joy. Together, they enjoyed shopping, walking, and baking. Pam was an excellent baker. She was best known for her chocolate chip cookies, fudge, and blarney stones.
Pam was not only a generous, kind, and loving mother but she also poured her heart out to her four precious grandchildren. She was the best Nana or Mams as they called her that a kid could ever ask for. She most recently gained the title and was over the moon of this new role of Great Grandma to Adaline (Liney).
Pam is survived by her daughter Stephanie (Jeff) DenBesten of Clinton, her grandchildren Keaton (Kylie) and great-granddaughter Adaline DenBesten of Galena, Cooper DenBesten of Clinton, Campbell DenBesten of Iowa City, and Kennedy DenBesten of Iowa City. Her sisters Maureen Vogel and Patricia Bentley of Arizona. Her dog Phoebe. She was preceded in death by her parents Kenneth and Mary Vogel.
