Orville Young's Obituary
Orville H. Young, 88, of Clinton, died Thursday, October 29, 2009 at his home in Silivs, Illinois. Funeral Services will be 2:00pm Monday, November 2, 2009 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory with Dennis Glew officiating. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery with military honors being conducted by the Clinton AMVETS Post #28. Serving as pallbearer will be David Broadrick, Don Sweeney, Richard Sweeney, Chuck Gandrup, Gary Nixon, and Mike Nixon. Visitation will be from 12:30pm to the service time at the funeral home. Orville Howard Young was born on April 2, 1921 in Osborn, Ohio, the son of Orville and Anna (Miller) Young. He married Laura M. Keeley on June 20, 1942 in Clinton, Iowa, she died August 7, 2003. Orville was a 1939 graduate of Clinton High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II. Orville was an electrician at DuPont until retiring after 40 years.
Orville was member of First United Methodist Church, the Izak Walton League, and enjoyed bowling, golfing and hunting. Orville is survived by a daughter: Sharon K. Young of Commerce Township, Michigan, a son: Larry (Jane) Young of Davenport, Iowa; two grandchildren: Aaron and Rachel Young; and one brother: Robert Young. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, three sisters, one brother, and a grandson. Memorials can be made to the First United Methodist Church, Clinton.
