Steve & Roberta Adams
My Grandma, Effie Seamer Adams, was a 17 year old when Uncle Henry brought Orv to live with Great Grandparents Augie & Minnie in Low Moor.
My parents, Ray & Lavonne, often mentioned the big celebration with his family in Clinton when everyone met the train that brought him home from the service in 1945.
My early memories include a family visit when Jean and Rick were little kids, Irma serving a late evening lunch, Orv pouring chocolate syrup on vanilla ice cream when Rick asked for "black duff" on it...
Orv as a young man driving a two cylinder John Deere pulling a flair box of shelled corn to town, stopping in on the way past our place on the Elvira road to dodge a rain shower...
Orv playing work-up with the little kids and a sponge rubber softball in the farmyard before the summer the barn caught fire...teaching Rick how to hit...
He was always optimistic, happy and delighted as well as proud of his family. What a wonderful legacy!
