Olive M. Treakle's Obituary
Olive M. Treakle, 85, of Clinton, passed away, Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Rosewood Nursing Home – Edwardsville, Illinois.
Funeral Services will be 10:30am Monday, September 8, 2014 Trinity Lutheran Church – Clinton. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting her obituary at www.snellzornig.com
Olive Marie Mohrmann was born on April 28, 1929 in Richland County, Wisconsin the daughter of Henry and Grace (Shepherd) Mohrmann. She was the devoted wife of Marvin Treakle and were married on October 4, 1947 in Boaz, Wisconsin; he died February 26, 1991.
Olive worked for 30 years as housekeeper at Clinton Retirement Village and Eagle Point Nursing Home. Strong in her Christian faith she was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church since 1952. To know Olive was to love her.
Olive was the loving mother of six children: Benjamin (Mai) Treakle of Florida, Dan (Cheryl) Treakle of Fairbanks, Alaska, Steven (Felipa) Treakle of Colonial Heights, Virginia, Julia Johnson of Arlington, Texas, William (JoAnn) Trekle of Troy, Illinois, and Roger (Norma) Treakle of Champaign, Illinois, the proud grandmother of 16 grandchildren and was blessed with 15 great-grandchildren; one sister: Grace Potts of Madison, Wisconsin; one brother: Adolf Mohrmann of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and will be greatly missed by many nephews, nieces, and friends.
Olive was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter and one sister.
