Norma K. Nissen's Obituary
Norma K. Nissen, 87, of Camanche, Iowa, passed away Sunday, November 11, 2018 at West Wing, DeWitt. Services will be held at Noon, Friday, November 16, 2018 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Camanche. Visitation will be held on Friday from 10AM until the service hour at the Church. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be her great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Norma was born September 3, 1931 in New Hampton, Iowa, the daughter of August F. and Helen M. (Wilson) Kahn. She was a 1942 Clinton High School graduate. Norma Kahn married Donald Nissen, Sr. August 3, 1952 in Clinton, Iowa; he died March 17, 1994.
Norma was employed as a legal secretary for David O. Shaff Law Firm for 29 years, retiring in 1993. She also farmed with her husband near DeWitt and Camanche.
Norma was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church; she enjoyed bowling, the Clinton Lumber Kings and hitting all the casinos between Clinton and Las Vegas.
Survivors include her children, Dale L. (Sheryl) Nissen of Camanche; Donald (Rose) Nissen, Jr. of Clinton; and Ronald E. (Judy) Nissen of Illinois; grandchildren, Kristin (Mark) Flora, Adam (Marie) Nissen, Lindsey (Nick) Sadewasser, Eric (Jen) Nissen; Becky (Brian) Goodhart and Nathan (Amy) Nissen; great-grandchildren, Riley and Melanie Flora, Cole Diercks, Hanna, Hunter and Peyton Nissen, Eric, Shawn and Brianna Goodhart and Olivia Nissen; great great-grandson, Aiden Goodhart.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, niece, Linda Hagedorn and sisters, Gwen Douglas and Geraldine Huffman.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Immanuel Lutheran, Camanche.
