Nelson Moore's Obituary
Nelson Moore, 84, of Clinton, passed away, Sunday, May 14, 2023 at Eagle Point Nursing Home.
Funeral Services will be 1:30pm, Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery with military honors being conducted by the Clinton AMVETS Post #28. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00-7:00pm at the funeral home.
Nelson Edward Moore was born on July 19, 1938 in Clinton, the son of Charles and Grace (Nelson) Moore. He was a 1956 graduate of Clinton High School and graduated from Clinton Community College. He served in the United States Army from 1961-1964. He would marry Cynthia A. Biel in 1965
Nelson was employed with the Clinton Herald for 33 years in circulation; retiring as circulation manager. He also drove the school bus for the Clinton School District for many years.
Most days you would find Nelson at the 2nd Street Shell having coffee with friends. He also enjoyed throwing birthday parties. He was former member of American Legion, Moose, Elks, and the Masonic Lodge.
Nelson is survived by his children: Richard (Lisa) Moore of Camanche, Phillip Moore of Davenport, Katrina (Marc) Ford of DeWitt, a special daughter: Kelly Moore of Fulton; 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter: Heidi; and his former wife: Cindy.
