Nellie Swanson's Obituary
Nellie M. Swanson, 94, of Clinton, died Sunday, November 25, 2007 at the Alverno.
Funeral Services will be 1:30pm, Saturday, December 1, 2007 at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Paul Holmer officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be John Jolly, Willard Kraft, Ross Stuedemann, Justin Stuedemann, Ray Fiedler, Don Nicolaysen, and Dwight Webber. Serving as an honorary pallbearer will be John Stansberry. Visitation will be Friday from 3:00-7:00pm at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory.
Nellie Marie Jolly was born on June 13, 1913, the daughter of Ellsworth and Matilda (Painter) Jolly. She married Adolph G. Sourwine on November 17, 1950, he died July 12, 1960. She later married Earl Swanson on March 9, 1963; he died June 27, 1982.
She was a 1931 graduate of Lomax High School in Lomax, Illinois.
She was employed as a nanny in LaHarpe, Illinois for seven years. She then worked at the Burlington Ordinance Depot in Burlington during World War II, and later as the bookkeeper with the DeWitt Veterinarian Clinic
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she was active the Dorcas and Friendship Circle, the Clinton Women?s Club, and the Folletts Study Club, she was also an avid card player.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, three brothers, and one sister.
