Neirma E. Jordan's Obituary
Neirma E. Jordan, 79, of Camanche, passed away, Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Mercy Hospital in Clinton.
Funeral Services will be 11:00am, Thursday, March 7, 2019 at Immanuel Lutheran Church – Camanche. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery – Camanche. The first visitation will be held Wednesday from 4:00-6:00pm at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. A second visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00am at the church.
Neirma Elizabeth Meggers was born on May 10, 1939 in Charlotte, Iowa. She was the daughter of George and Marcella (Clausen) Meggers. Neirma’s fraternal father passed away before she was born. She was raised by her mother Marcella and the only father she ever knew, Ben Bahnsen. She was a 1958 graduate of Miles High School. She married Kenneth Nelson on July 6, 1958 in Preston; they later divorced. She married Irmil Jordan on July 15, 1986 in Miles; he died October 8, 2000.
Neirma was a processor at PFC, a cashier at Kopp’s Grocery - Camanche and housekeeper for the elderly. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and Women of the Moose. She enjoyed the Camanche Meal Site, cooking, baking, bird watching, playing cards, and watching Iowa Hawkeye Basketball.
Neirma will be deeply missed by her daughter: Brenda (Gary) Rockrohr of Neosho, Missouri, two sons: Glenn (Irene) Nelson of Thousand Oaks, California, and Kevin (Janet Irish) Nelson of Clinton; 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Pauline (Clyde) Ferguson of Clinton, Bernadine (Gary) VanKampen of Fulton, Illinois, and her sister-in-law: Jan Bahnsen of Miles. She was preceded in death by her mother, her fathers, her husband, her sister: Darleen, and brother: Bernhard.
Memorials can be made to the Arthritis Foundation, the American Diabetes Association, or Immanuel Lutheran Church – Camanche.
