Naomi R. Phillips' Obituary
Naomi R. Phillips, 86, of Clinton, passed away, Thursday, July 7, 2016 at her home in Clinton.
Private family services and visitation will be held on Monday. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery – Mt. Carroll, Illinois. The Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family.
Naomi Ruth Getz was born on May 31, 1930 in Mt. Carroll, Illinois, the daughter of Frederick and Mildred (Wolf) Getz. She was a 1948 graduate of Mt. Carroll High School. She married Lowell Phillips in June 10, 1948 in Mt. Carroll.
Naomi worked for the Farmers Home Administration with the USDA in Salem, Illinois.
Naomi was a member of the First United Methodist Church – Clinton, where she enjoyed singing in the choir. She also enjoyed singing with the Clintones. She was a former officer with NARFE in Illinois.
Naomi is survived by her husband: Lowell of Clinton; one son: Christopher Phillips of Voorhees, New Jersey; two daughters: Katherine (George) Drastal of San Lus Obispo, California, and Sarah (Richard) Diaz of Deephaven, Minnesota; four grandchildren; and one brother: Philip (Penny) Getz of Angola, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and one sister.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Clintones or to the First United Methodist Church.
