Nancy Kelly's Obituary
Nancy R. Kelly, 85, of Clinton, died Sunday, January 27, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center, North Campus, Clinton.
Funeral Services will be 10:00am, Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at First United Methodist Church with Dennis Glew officiating. Burial will be in the Springdale Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Samuel Kelly, Daniel Kelly, Greg Kelly, Brandon Kooi, Scott Kelly, and Dick Kelly. Honorary pallbearers will be Devin Kelly and Dennie Halverson. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00-8:00pm at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory.
Nancy Ruth Bowers was born on November 25, 1922 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Clyde and Sue(Hoffman) Bowers. She married Raymond (Nook) Kelly on May 31, 1943 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Nancy was a 1940 graduate of Clinton High School and later graduated from Mount St. Clare College.
Nancy was a homemaker. She also was a substitute teacher in the elementary schools. She enjoyed dancing, gardening, knitting, and spending time with her family.
Nancy is survived by her husband: Raymond of Clinton; two sons: Stephen (Cindy) Kelly of Camanche and David (Kathy) Kelly of Clinton; six grandchildren: Erin (Brandon) Kooi, Greg (Nadene) Kelly, Daniel (Esmé) Kelly, Nancy Kelly, Samuel Kelly and Devin Kelly. Six great-grandchildren: Maddison Kooi, Logan Kooi, Kennedy Kooi, Mackenzie Kelly, Kaelan Kelly, David Kelly; two sisters: Betty Smith of Clinton and Jane Jones of Clinton; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Nancy is preceded in death by her parents and one brother: Bobby Bowers.
The family requests that memorials be made to Mercy Hospice.
