David and Family,

We were so saddened to learn of Nancy's passing. Nancy and I were great high school buddies, and only lived a block from one another. She was such a true friend, and a bright beacon to those who were fortunate to know her.

Nancy was the matron of honor at our wedding nearly fifty years ago. She was so great in helping with the planning of our special day. And with her fabulous sewing ability made her own bridesmaid dress and helped me to make my going away dress.

Unfortunately, immediately after our wedding we left the Clinton area and over the years lost contact with one another. I am sorry that happened, but I will never forget the wonderful high school years we shared.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this very difficult time. We hope that with each passing day, her memories will shine brighter and your pain will lessen.

David, daughters, & family,
Your pain is surely deep and your sorrow more real everyday....I pray for you. I’ve spent the past 2 days being sad and sorry and regretful that her time was so short with you. Regretful for me as well that I didn’t spend more time as an adult with her because I loved her like a sister.
Nancy, Sandy (Martensen-Rickertsen) and I were very close cousins as we grew up. All of us within a year in age. All the Rajcevich kin did almost everything together back in those days...from the little events to the Serbian Christmas celebrations. Lots of people and noise and food and laughter. We loved it and as I got older, I realized the importance and preciousness of it all. Uncle Dutch filmed much of this.
I never went Trick or treating without her. There were sewing projects ( I cut. she sewed ), summer weeks at each other’s houses, jacks, ice skating, Bobby, even taking baths together in the house on 2nd Ave South.
Nancy was beautiful, kind, funny and I remember always wanting to be around her ..... what a great childhood we had. After I left Clinton, I didn’t get to spend time with her & didn’t get to know her daughters but when the rare opportunities of meeting again DID happen, the main topic was her girls...how she loved you girls!
Knowing she has passed hurts. The ache comes from loving someone so dear.
