Mildred S. Judd's Obituary
Mildred S. Judd, 96, of Clinton passed away, Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Mercy Living Center North – Clinton.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 am, Saturday, November 19, 2016 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:30 am until the service hour at the funeral home.
Mildred S. Wahl was born November 30, 1919 in Clinton County, Iowa, the daughter of Ernest and Rose (Kellerman) Wahl. She was a 1937 graduate of Elvira Schools. She married Luther Gerdts on September 4, 1937 in Clinton, Iowa. Luther was killed in action May 16, 1945 at Luzon, Philippines Islands. She later married Marshall Judd in 1949; he preceded her in death in 2003.
During the war years she worked at Riches Toy Factory making ammunition boxes for the war effort. Later she cooked at the Elvira School. Mildred retired as an inspector at DairyPak in Clinton after 34 years of service. She enjoyed camping, fishing and especially gardening.
Mildred is surived by one son: Ronald (Bernice) Gerdts of Clinton; three grandchildren: Larry Gerdts of Seattle, Washington, Lori (Jason) Hagedorn of Iowa City, Iowa and David (Hilary) Gerdts of North Liberty, Iowa; four great grandchildren: Sam and Elli Hagedorn and Lily and Henry Gerdts; and two cousins: Verda Mae (Daryl) Glahn and Linda (Robert) North.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Luther and Marshall and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Memorials may be made to the Elvira Zion Lutheran Church or the American Diabetes Association.
