Mildred Ireland's Obituary
Mildred "Millie" Ireland, 94, of Clinton died Friday, October 30, 2009 at the Alverno Health Care Facility. Funeral services will be 10:30am Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church, Clinton, IA. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00pm Monday, November 2, 2009 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will be in the Springdale Cemetery. Pallbearers James Claeys, Brian Driscoll, Jim Kair, Bob Miller, Paul Schaaf and Randy Weller. Millie was born January 9, 1915 in Goose Lake, Iowa the daughter of Gus O. and Margaret (Lampe) Weller. She was educated in the Goose Lake Schools. She was employed as an inspector and label processor at Dupont for 31 years retiring in 1973. She married Glenn Ireland June 21, 1946 in DeWitt, Iowa; he died February 19, 1990. Mildred was a member of the First United Methodist Church; she was an active volunteer with Mercy Auxiliary and Jefferson School. She was an exceptional lady and took great care of her family, friends, neighbors and anyone in need. Survivors include her niece, Myrna Weller of Camanche, IA; sister-in-law, Eunice Weller of Clinton, IA; step-daughter, Brenda Ireland of Sacramento, CA; step-grandchildren, A.J. and Julie and nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a brother, 2 sisters, her stepson and 2 nephews. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church.
