Mildred L. “Cookie” Dorsey, 70, of Clinton, passed away, Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital – Chicago, Illinois. Funeral Services will be 2:00pm, Friday, September 28, 2012 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will follow in the Springdale Cemetery. The family will greet friends from noon to the service time Friday at the funeral home. Online condolences maybe expressed by visiting her obituary at www.snellzornig.com Mildred Lorraine Martin was born on November 3, 1941 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Earl and Mildred (Holt) Martin. She married Allen K. Dorsey on April 11, 1963 in Camanche, Iowa. Mildred was employed as a quality control analyst at General Electric in Morrison from 1964 until her retirement in 1996. She loved her job and coworkers. She was a former President of the GEM Club as well as being involved in many charity organizations. Mildred loved nature and animals. She enjoyed traveling especially going on cruises and frequent trips to Las Vegas. Mildred is survived by her husband: Allen of Clinton; two daughters; Tracey (Brian) Ostrowski of Davis Junction, Illinois, and Sondra (Keith) Beveroth of Morrison, Illinois; 9 grandchildren: Leslie, Kyle, Lars, Joseph, Tommy, Chelsea, Brent, Sydney, and Devin; 6 great-grandchildren; her sister: Alice Fulton of Clinton, and her brother: Gerald (Sandy) Martin of Camanche. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, and two brothers: Robert Martin and Richard Martin. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to a charity of your choice.
