Mildred Daehler's Obituary
Mildred E. Daehler, 95, of Clinton, died Monday, November 1, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center, North Campus, Clinton. Funeral Services will be 10:30am, Friday, November 5, 2010 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory with Rev. Scott Stephan officiating. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Kurt Daehler, Don Hansen, Steve Cagley, Arky Wiebenga, Harlan Wiebenga and Vern Pals and honorary pallbearer Keith Daehler. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00-7:00pm at the funeral home. Mildred Elizabeth Tillotson Daehler was born on April 25, 1915 in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of Harry and Tula (Warner) Tillotson. She married Leo Daehler on December 25, 1936 in Clinton. She was a 1933 graduate of Clinton High School. She was the secretary of the personal director at Clinton Corn/Nabisco for 30 years retiring in 1980. She enjoyed Counted Cross-Stitch, traveling, playing bridge, and loved listening to music, playing the keyboard and organ. She lived in Clinton most of her life and recently resided at Harbor Crest Nursing Home, Fulton, Illinois. She is survived by two sons: Richard (Joyce) Daehler of Fulton, Illinois, and Thomas (Marietta) Daehler of Indianapolis, Indiana; five grandchildren: Kimberly Hansen, Krista Cagley, Kurt Daehler, Keith Daehler, and Katherine Nickels , 13 great-grandchildren and two nieces: Linda Hamstra and Dixie Jakubson. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and three sisters. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Harbor Crest Nursing Home.
