Mildred Clausen's Obituary
Mildred M. Clausen, 86, of Clinton, formerly of Watertown, South Dakota, died Saturday, February 7, 2009 at Mercy Living Center, South. Memorial Services will be held later this summer in Watertown, South Dakota. The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements. Mildred May Small was born on July 27, 1922 in Garden City, South Dakota, the daughter of Herbert and Millie (Day) Small. She married Ralph W. Clausen on May 15, 1942 at Camp Wallace, Texas, he later died November 25, 1997. Mildred attended Watertown High School and also a 1941 graduate of the Watertown Beauty Academy. Mildred was a beautician in Watertown for many years and also was a housewife. Mildred was a past member of Eastern Star, a member of the Stray Horse Extension Club, and the Castlewood Presbyterian Women’s Group. Mildred is survived by two sons: Robert (Marcy) Clausen of Battle Lake, Minnesota and William Clausen of Clinton; two daughters: Barbara (Andy) Nielsen of Phoenix, Arizona, and Betty (Wayne) Feay of Fort Wayne, Indiana; 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Alta Czech of Vancouver, Washington, and Estella Bartling of Dallas, Texas. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five brothers, and five sisters.
