Mike Finn's Obituary
James E. “Mike” Finn, 72, of Clinton, passed away, Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at Genesis Medical Center – West Campus, Davenport surrounded by his loving family. A Memorial Mass will be 1:00pm, Friday, June 29, 2012 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Clinton. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00-8:00pm at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. A vigil service will conclude the visitation at 8:00pm. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Robby Byers, Dave Donovan, Sean Bentley, David Grim, and Connie Hilbert-Henle. James Eugene Finn was born on November 17, 1939 in Clinton, the son of William and Kathryn (Howard) Finn. He was a 1958 graduate of St. Mary’s High School. He attended Clinton Community College. He married Marilou Wait on January 30, 1960 in Clinton. Mike was employed with Eagles Food Stores for 46 years retiring in 2002. He worked and managed stores in Clinton, the Quad Cities, Sterling, and Dixon. Mike was a member of Prince of Peace Parish, enjoyed spending time at the YWCA as a Silver Sneaker, was active in Junior Achievement, and was a girl scout leader for his daughters. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s activities and visiting and telling jokes to his family and friends. Mike is survived by his loving wife of 52 years: Marilou of Clinton; five children: Maribeth (Jeffrey) Bousman, Michael (Laura) Finn, Marcia (Jay) Schmitt, Maggie (Bryan) Buech, and Matt (Amy) Finn all of Clinton; eight grandchildren: Nathan Finn, Abigail Schmitt, Ryan Finn, Kathryn Bousman, Elizabeth Bousman, Riley Buech, Corey Buech, and Ayden Finn; one great-grandson: Alexander Varner; one step-granddaughter: Jessica Bousman; and three step-great grandchildren: Caleb Kuster, Connor Kuster, and Caitlynn Kuster; his sister: Nancy (Larry) Grim of Camanche; and several nieces and nephews including three who shared a home with the Finns: Kathy Engels of Milan, Barbara Paschal of Morrison, and Perry Wolfe of Moline. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and one grandson. The family requests that memorials be made to the Prince of Peace Building Fund.
