Michael C. Schoening, 57, of Camanche, passed away, Monday, January 19, 2015 at his home. Burial will be in the Rock Island Arsenal National Cemetery at a later date. Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Michael Charles Schoening was born October 1, 1957 in Davenport, the son of Lawrence and Marjorie (Lunardi) Schoening. He was a 1976 graduate of DeWitt High School. He married Sherry Stowers on February 14, 2005.
Michael served in the United States Navy from 1975 to 1979. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, trapping, and gardening.
Michael is survived by his wife: Sherry of Camanche; one daughter: Micaela Ann Schoening of Omaha, Nebraska; his parents: Marjorie and Lawrence Schoening of DeWitt; three brothers: Mark (Linda) Schoening of DeWitt, Marty Schoening of Georgia, and Lance (Christine) Schoening of Runnells, Iowa; and one sister: Libby (Duff) Ridgeway of Center Point, Iowa.
Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents, biological father Charles E. Hugh, a niece, and a nephew.
