Michael Lawrence Huffman's Obituary
Michael Lawrence Huffman, 77, of DeWitt, Iowa, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2022 at Genesis East, Davenport.
Services will be held 2PM Friday, September 30, 2022 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 4 -7:00PM Thursday, September 29, 2022 at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Center Grove Cemetery, where full military honors will be conducted by the Clinton AMVETS. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting snellzornig.com.
Michael was born January 10, 1945 in Maquoketa, Iowa, the son of Robert and Charlotte Mae (Burkert) Huffman. He married Susan Breen June 17, 1972 in Clinton, Iowa.
Michael was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War.
He was employed at Eagles Grocery Store in Clinton as General Merchandise Manager for 41 years, retiring in 2003, he also farmed near Goose Lake his entire life.
Michael was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the American Legion, AMVETS and on the board of directors and active with the Clinton Cattleman’s Association.
Survivors include his wife, Susan of DeWitt, IA; daughters, Sarah (Tom) Cox of DeWitt, IA and Shannon E (Shannon P.) Heck of Bettendorf, IA; grandchildren, Susannah and Elizabeth Cox and Ethan and Gavin Heck; brother Terry (Linda) Huffman of Davenport, Florida and nieces and nephews.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
