Melvin E. Shoemaker, 87, of Morrison, Illinois, died Friday September 1, 2023 at Pleasant View, Morrison, Illinois. A celebration of Melvin’s life will be held at 7PM, Friday, September 8, 2023 at the Double G Saloon, Morrison, Illinois. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting snellzornig.com. Melvin was born March 3, 1936 in Iowa. He married Krista St. Clair May 15, 1993 in Clinton, Iowa. Melvin was a machinist at Alcoa for more than 33 years prior to retiring.
Survivors include his wife, Krista of Morrison; step-sons, Kyle St. Clair and Tony Proud; grandchildren, Heather Shoemaker, Jennifer, Samantha and Tabitha and sister-in-law Karen (Dale) Beatty of Cedar Rapids.
Melvin was preceded in death by his parents, son, Jim Shoemaker two brothers and two sisters.
