Maxine A. Mensinger's Obituary
Maxine A. Mensinger, 94, of Pontiac, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at 9:08 p.m. at Evenglow Lodge Tjardes Health Center in Pontiac.
Her graveside service will be held Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Clinton Lawn Cemetery in Clinton, Iowa. The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
Maxine was born April 4, 1921 in Clinton, Iowa, daughter of Carl and Alvina (Ingerson) Unruh. She married Leroy Marti on May 10, 1941. He passed away in 1969. She later married Maynard Mensinger in August 1972. He passed away in February 2006.
She is survived by her daughter, Phyllis (Arnold) Bradley of Pontiac, Illinois; three grandchildren, Cheryl Bammann of Pontiac, Illinois, Julie (Ken) Dawson of Pontiac, Illinois, and Beth Shelton of Pontiac, Illinois; and four great grandchildren, Aaron Shelton of Normal, Illinois, Jordan Bammann of Hoffman Estates, Illinois, Adam Shelton of Pontiac, Illinois, and Olivia Bammann of Pontiac, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her parents; both spouses; one brother, Donald Unruh; and one sister, Shirley Phillips.
Maxine was a graduate of Elmwood High School, Class of 1939 and was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Pontiac, Illinois. Maxine was an avid gardener and a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan.
