Matthew J. Otto's Obituary
Matthew J. Otto, 48, of Clinton, passed away, Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Matthew John Otto was born on June 30, 1976, in Clinton, the son of Tina Otto. He was a 1995 graduate of Clinton High School and later received welding training at Clinton Community College. He served in the Iowa National Guard and the United States Army.
Matthew worked many welding jobs including Russell Construction. He was a very patriotic man who loved his country. He was avid craftsman and loved working with his hands from carpentry to welding; one would say he was a “Jack of All Trades”. Everywhere he went he made friends. He was an avid gamer from New Eden to Azeroth to the Commonwealth. His love for gaming surpassed him and he shared that love with his family.
Matt is survived by his son: Isaac (Hannah) Otto of Clinton; two grandchildren: Irene and James; and his brother: Trent Marburger of Savanna, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his mother and grandparents.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 1, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00pm at the Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. A short service and Military honors will be conducted by the Clinton AMVETS Post #28 will begin at 4:00pm.
