Pat Jacobs
Mary Jo and I have been friends since we were at Washington Jr. High together. Going home after school we would come to a corner where we should have parted ways, but would instead walk each other to the opposite directions so we could stay together longer. One memorable day in those early years she took me with her family to a county fair out near Monticello, IA. We were best friends through Clinton High and graduated from Mount St. Clare College together. Before I joined the convent, I took my first plane ride going to Chicago to visit my friend. Did not see her for many years, but was happy to be able to attend her wedding in Chicago. Over the many years, we did not see each other often, but we always felt a close bond. Since I have been in Phoenix over 20 years, we would often get a lunch date when I would get back to Clinton in the summers. She would pick me up in her red car and we would enjoy precious time together. The summer before last she gave me a tour of the Curtis Home after lunch. How I treasure those many lunch dates with my dear friend. You live on, Mary. I am honored and grateful to have had you in my life. Love you XO Pat Jacobs/ aka Sister Carmel
