Mary M. Harksen, 92, of Camanche, passed away, Monday, August 10, 2020 at Park Vista – Camamche.
A Funeral Mass will be 10:30am, Friday, August 14, 2020 at the Catholic Church of the Visitation. Masks and social distancing will be required. The Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family.
Mary Margaret Harksen was born on October 30, 1927 in Grand Mound, Iowa, the daughter of Harry and Ursula (Kaeferstein) Hahn. She was a graduate of Grand Mound High School. She married Wayne Harksen in 1955; he died May 12, 2016.
Mary was a homemaker and farmwife. She also worked at Clinton National Bank and Illowa Salvation Store. She loved to play cards and go to garage sales. She enjoyed watching the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Chicago Cubs. She had a great sense of humor and loved spending time with her family which she had so much pride for.
Mary is survived by her children: John (Marti) Harksen of Maysville, Iowa, Mary Harksen of Clinton, Harry (Amy) Harksen of Bettendorf, James Harksen of DeWitt, and Tina (Steve) Gould of Byron, Illinois, 10 grandchildren, 8 greatgrandchildren; two sisters and one brother She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and three brothers and five sisters.
Memorials can be made to the Low Moor Volunteer Fire Department.
