Mary Goddard's Obituary
Mary J. Goddard, 94, of Clinton died Friday, October 14, 2011 at Mercy Living Center North. Funeral services will be 10:30am Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00pm Monday, October 17, 2011 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Visitation will also be Tuesday from 5:00-7:00pm at Carson and Son Funeral and Cremation Services in Maqoketa. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Mary Jean Goddard was born on January 16, 1917 in Calamus. Mary was employed as a nurses aide at Jane Lamb, Mercy Hospital and Schick Hospital and also worked in the kitchen at Mercy Hospital for many years prior to retiring in 1976. She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. She is survived by four sons: Vernon Goddard of Clinton, Rev. Paul (the late Mary) Goddard of St. James, MO, James (Jackie Thompson) Goddard of Clinton and Lester Goddard of Odessa, TX; one daughter: Irma (Brad) Huebner of Erie, IL; 36 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren; one great great granddaughter, one step-son: Don Goddard of Montana and one step-daughter: Evelyn Goddard Birge of Arizona. She was preceded in death by her sons: Glenn Goddard, Robert Goddard and Gary Thomas; daughter: Joyce Keller; one brother and three sisters. Memorials may be made to the family.
