Mary Ellen Burmahl, 88, of Clinton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 8,2025 at the Alverno.
Per her wishes there will no services or visitation; private burial will be in the St. John’s Cemetery -Andrew, Iowa. Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
Mary Ellen Sommers was born on November 23, 1936 in Andrew, Iowa, the daughter of Oscar and Syliva (Kremer) Sommers. She married Floyd Burmahl on November 23, 1954 in Andrew, Iowa.
She is survived by her husband: Floyd; two daughters: Jacqueline Lee of Clinton and Julia Burmahl of New Braunfels, Texas; granddaughter: Whitney (Ryan) Veenstra of Clinton; and great-grandchildren: Olivia & Jackson Veenstra; sisters: Joanne (Paul) Konrardy, Phyllis (Joe) Wingert, Nancy (Vern) Konrardy, Shirley Rinkiker, Terri Wagner; brothers: Ron Sommers, Rich Sommers, Bob (Connie) Sommers, Tom (Kim) Sommers, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother: Donald Sommers.
