Mary Ann D. Strouss' Obituary
Mary Ann D. Strouss, 91, of Camanche, passed away, Monday, June 13, 2016 at Mercy Living Center – North.
Funeral Services will be 11:00am, Friday, June 17, 2016 at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Rick Eizenga, Jim Schnitzmeyer, Kurt Flathers, Tom Wulf, Ritchie Keller, and Jeff Edwards. Serving as an honorary pallbearer will be Jerry Edwards. Visitation will be from 10:00am to the service time at the church. Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family.
Mary Ann Dorothy Keller was born on January 12, 1925 in Ustick Township, Whiteside County, Illinois, the daughter of Christ and Marie (Kammerer) Keller. She married Earl J. Strouss on October 29, 1946 at St. John’s Lutheran Church; he died February 28, 1997.
Mary Ann was a homemaker and owned her own upholstery business “Mary’s Upholstery.” She was a talented seamstress and an amazing cook and baker. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church where she participated in the quilting bee, making quilts for missions and baptismal banners.
Mary Ann is survived by her daughters: Joan (William) Ross of Clinton; Judy Ross of Camanche; three grandchildren: Larry L. (Krista) Ross, Jr. of Gays Mills, Wisconsin, Christopher Ross of Camanche, and Jonathan (Kelli) Ross of Lincoln, Nebraska; great-grandchildren: Zachary Ross, Holly & Ryne Ross, and Mikah & Malakai Ross; sister-in-law Arlene Keller of Morrison and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband: Earl; son-in-law: Larry L. Ross, Sr., brothers: Paul, George, Alvin, Christy, and Victor Keller; sisters: Irene Mumm, Rose Kuehl, and Henrietta Hoobler.
Memorials can be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church or to Mercy Living Center – North for new gazebo furniture.
