Marvin Hill's Obituary
Marvin L. Hill, 91, of Clinton died Sunday, June 14, 2009 at Eagle Point Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm Friday, June 19, 2009 at Elvira Zion Lutheran Church, Elvira. Visitation will be Friday, June 19, 2009 from 10:00 am until the service hour at the church. Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory are in charge of the arrangements. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Marvin Leroy Hill was born on October 20, 1917 in Clinton, the son of Kenneth and Rose (Hansen) Hill. He graduated from Elvira High School. He married Kathryn Carlsen in Clinton; she died in 1966. He later married Christina Golden in Clinton; she died in 1994. He was a United States Army Veteran, serving during WWII. He was a realtor with Century 21 Realty for 17 years until retiring in 1993. He also built the Camanche Bowling Alley, which he owned and managed for many years. He is survived by two daughters: Maureen (Jeff) Hansen of Cedar Hill, TX and Kathy (Bob) Ryner of Camanche; one son, Marty (Melissa) Hill of Clinton; one stepson, Dennis (Karen) Carlsen of Camanche; 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. In addition to his two wives, he was preceded in death by his parents, one son, one stepson, one great grandson, and 2 brothers. Memorials may be made to Eagle Point Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
