Martin Hoenig Jr.'s Obituary
Martin Hoenig, Jr., 70, of Low Moor, passed away, Monday, August 19, 2024 at Genesis East – Davenport, Iowa.
A visitation will be Friday, August 23, 2024 from 4:00-7:00pm at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. A short service including a final page and tolling of the bell will conclude the visitation at 7:00pm.
Martin Hoenig, Jr was born on July 17, 1954 in Fort Madison, Iowa the son of Martin and Verna (Davis) Hoenig. He was a graduate of Fort Madison High School. He began his working career in food service managing Hardee and KFC stores for several years. He would later work for International Paper and West Rock retiring in 2017.
Martin was proud of his service to the Low Moor Fire Department serving for over 35 years. He was an Eagle Scout; loved spending time outdoors, camping and being in his yard. He also enjoyed tinkering in his garage. He loved animals, especially his puppies.
Martin is survived by his fiancé: Lisa Streets of Low Moor, two sons: Marty (Deanne) Hoenig of Altoona, Iowa, and Derek (Heather) Hoenig of Low Moor, four grandchildren: Katelyn, Kaleb, Blake, and Karson; and his sister: Norma Consbrock of Missouri and his nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son: Mark, and a sister: Vickie.
