Marlene J. Hansen's Obituary
Marlene J. Hansen, 87, of Clinton, passed away Monday, September 21, 2020 at MercyOne – Clinton.
Funeral Services will be 11:00am, Friday, September 25, 2020 at Zion Lutheran Church. Visitation will be from 9:00am to the service time at the church. Burial will be in the Springdale Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Kristian Bahnsen, Aiden Thomas, Isaiah Valle, Keith Grimm, Dean Grimm, Dean Hansen, Bill Clark, Evan TePoel, Kyle Huckabee, Mike Maynard, and Mike Shoup. Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family.
Marlene Joanne Grimm was born on July 15, 1933 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Otto and Gertrude (Grossman) Grimm. She was a 1951 graduate of Elwood High School. She married John “Jack” Hansen on July 4, 1952 in Kahoka, Missouri; he died June 14, 2006.
Marlene worked for Petersen & Eddy Attorneys at Law / Nielsen’s Clearing House/ Dohrn Transfer / IDS.
Marlene was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and it’s Sarah Circle and also taught Sunday School. She was also active in the Beta Pho Sorority. She was a troop leader and den mother. She enjoyed camping at the Timberlake Playhouse Campground, playing golf, and sewing.
Marlene is survived by her children: John (Becky) Hansen, Jr. of DeWitt, Iowa, Cherie (Gerald) Rieskamp of Amana, Iowa, Rhonda (Mike) Thomas of Clinton, Iowa, and Heather (Kevin) Bahnsen of Clinton, Iowa; 13 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and her sister-in-law: Arlene Grimm of Charlotte, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, her son: Dennis, sister: Delores Mallinger, and brother: Richard Grimm.
Memorials can be made to Zion Lutheran Church.
