Mark William Mangin's Obituary
Mark William Mangin, 67, of Clinton, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at Eagle Point Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Clinton. Mark was diagnosed with Grade 4 Glioblastoma Multiforme in 2021. He fought bravely through various treatments and two brain surgeries. Despite his prognosis, he stayed hopeful and enjoyed each day he had left.
Services will be held at 11:00AM Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Visitation will be held from 4:00PM to 7:00PM Monday, March 18, 2024 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory and from 10:00AM until the service hour Tuesday at church. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Knights of Columbus. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting snellzornig.com.
Mark was born May 2, 1956 in Waterloo, Iowa the son of Robert and Mary Jane (Johnson) Mangin. He was a 1974 graduate of Columbus High School in Waterloo and received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Northern Iowa. Mark married Denise Reeves on March 28, 1980 in Waterloo.
Mark was employed as Director of Operations at PFC, Camanche for more than 41 years retiring in 2021.
He was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed riding his bicycle, playing pickleball, the Minnesota Vikings, time spent with family, especially his grandchildren and Sunday card games with his family.
Mark is survived by his wife, Denise of Clinton; children, Jason (Tristalee) Mangin of Salt Lake City, UT; Nicole (Jeremy) Harrison and Ashley (Aaron) Leslie both of Clinton, IA; grandchildren, Grant, Reese, Kyler, Ian and Anson; and siblings, Pat (Nora) Mangin of Waterloo, IA; Pete (Pam) Mangin of Waterloo, IA; Paul (Cathy) Mangin of Clinton, IA; Alan (Deb Seefeld) Mangin of Marion, IA; Tony (Michelle) Mangin of Des Moines, IA and Kathy Gales of Waterloo, IA.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Mike, and brother-in-law Bill Gales.
