Mark D. Mallicoat's Obituary
Mark D. Mallicoat, 66, of Clinton, passed away, Friday, June 3, 2016 at Eagle Point Nursing and Rehabilitation Center – Clinton.
Funeral Services will be 10:30am, Friday, June 10, 2016 at Zion Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be his son Eric, grandson Owen, friends John Wolfe, Eldon Giese, Pat Killean, and Dave Jeffrey. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00-7:00pm at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory.
Mark Douglas Mallicoat was born on March 20, 1950 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Harold and Donna (Gieseman) Mallicoat. He graduated from Clinton High School in 1968 and attended in the University of Iowa. He married Kathleen Motroni on March 14, 1970 in Clinton.
Mark worked in the title industry for 43 years and owned and operated Abstract Title Guaranty Company since 1985.
Mark was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Clinton Kiwanis, and the Iowa Land Title Association. He enjoyed traveling and was active in many community projects.
Mark is survived by his wife: Kathy of Clinton; two daughters: Jennifer (Eric) Schnitzler of Jacksonville, North Carolina, Rebecca (David) McConnell of Houston, Texas; one son: Eric (Crystal) Mallicoat of Clinton; seven grandchildren: Owen & Isabella Schnitzler, Megan, Brooke, and Liam McConnell, Madison Anglese and Nehemiah Mallicoat; and his step-siblings: Mark, Andrew and Susan Burton. He was preceded in death by his parents and his step-father Al Burton.
