Marjorie Oberman-Sagers-Bott's Obituary
Marjorie E. Oberman-Sagers-Bott, 76, of Clinton, formerly of Maquoketa, died Monday, August 22, 2011 at her home. Funeral Services will be 10:00 am, Friday, August 26, 2011 at Faith Lutheran Church, Andover with Rev. Shannon Witt officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery - Maquoketa. Serving as pallbearers will be A.J Heister, Luke McDermott, Leon Oberman, Gilbert Bott, Robert Bruns and Wayne Harmsen. Visitation will be Thursday from 3:00 pm to 7:00pm at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Marjorie E. Oberman was born on July 14, 1935 in Andrew, Iowa the daughter of Arthur and Selma (Becker) Oberman. She married James Sagers on February 10, 1957 in Clinton; he died January 6, 1977. She later married Darrell Bott on September 17, 1983 in Maquoketa; he died January 14, 2010. Marjorie was a 1953 graduate of Clinton High School. She also attended Clinton Community College She did bookkeeping and office work in several businesses in Clinton and Maquoketa. She also owned and operated the Jug-O-Milk convenience store in Maquoketa. Marjorie was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Andover and was active in bible study. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed needle pointing and flowers. Marjorie is survived by her two daughters: Joan (Rodney) Engelbrecht of Springfield, Ohio, Jane (Lyn) Heister of Maquoketa, Iowa; her son: Jonathan (Beth) Sagers of Stanton, Minnesota, three grandchildren: Shelly (Luke) McDermott, Alan “A.J” Heister, and Amy Engelbrecht; one great-grandson: Dylan McDermott; her sister: Helen (Gerald) Bender of Clinton, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents and both husbands. Memorials can be made to Faith Lutheran Church.
