Marjorie R. Grimes, 92, of Clinton, passed away, Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Mercy Living Center – South.
Graveside Services will be 1:00pm, Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Hawkeye Cemetery – Hawkeye, Iowa. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00-8:00pm at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting her obituary at www.snellzornig.com.
Marjorie Ruth Stahr was born on November 28, 1921 in West Union, Iowa, the daughter of George and Florinda (Wendland) Stahr. She was a graduate of West Union High School. She married Elvin Grimes; they later divorced.
Marjorie worked in several grocery stores in the Clinton area as a cashier.
Marjorie is survived by her son: Dennis Grimes of LeClaire, Iowa, five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one son: Larry on April 9, 2013.
