Marilyn J. Thomsen, 83, of Low Moor, passed away, Thursday, October 4, 2018 at her home.
There will be no services or visitation. Private family burial will be held at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting her obituary at www.snellzornig.com.
Marilyn Jo McDonald was born on March 11, 1935 in Clinton County, Iowa, the daughter of Lloyd and Edith (Gorsuch) McDonald. She was a 1953 graduate of Lyons High School. She married Andrew K. Thomsen on August 21, 1954 in Davenport, Iowa; he died June 29, 2005.
Marilyn helped with her husband’s construction business. She was a member of the Women of the Moose and the Low Moor United Methodist Church.
Marilyn is survived by two sons: Andrew Lloyd Thomsen of Camanche, Keith Alan (Susan) Thomsen of DeWitt; two daughters: Kim Denise Thomsen of Low Moor, and Kelly Jo Thomsen of Low Moor; and grandchildren, including Andrew Thomsen of Low Moor, whom she and her husband raised, and great-grandchildren; and her sister: Janet Bahnsen of Clinton. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters, and one brother.
Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society.
