Marilyn Matthew's Obituary
Marilyn E. Matthew, 72, of Clinton, died Saturday, March 27, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center, North Campus, Clinton. Funeral Services will be 10:30am, Thursday, April 1, 2010 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Paul Matthew, Jr., Clifford Gladney, Quan Matthew, Mark Hansen, Greg Hansen, David Holcomb, and Mike Logan. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be DeShia Matthew, Allee Matthew, Michael Jay Matthew, Grace Gladney, Gianna Gladney, and Gavyn Gladney. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00-8:00pm at the funeral home. Marilyn Elaine Hansen was born on November 28, 1937 in Clinton, Iowa the daughter of Einer and Grace (Hoffman) Hansen. She married Paul H. Matthew on April 14, 1963 in Clinton, Iowa. She was a 1955 graduate of Clinton High School. She was a courier at Mercy Medical Center for many years retiring in 2000. She also worked at the Clinton Herald, the telephone company, and at Target in the fitting room and as the switchboard operator. She was a former member of New Hope Lutheran Church. She enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren, sewing, doing crafts especially crochet. She is survived by her husband: Paul Matthew, Sr., of Clinton; one son: Paul (Debbie) Matthew, Jr., of Clinton; two daughters: Teresa (Bear Netherland) Matthew of Clinton, and Mary (Clifford) Gladney of Clinton; seven grandchildren: DeShia, Quan, Allee, and Michael Jay Matthew, and Grace, Gianna, and Gavyn Matthew; her brother: David (Bonnie) Hansen of Clinton and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorials can be made to the family.
