Marie Hass' Obituary
Marie Georgia Hass, 67, of Camanche, IA, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2008 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, IA. Services will be held at the 1st Presbyterian Church on Monday, June 16, 2008 at 10:30 AM. Visitation will be at Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory on Sunday, June 15, 2008 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Burial will be at Shaffton Cemetery, Folletts, IA. Pallbearers will be Christopher and Daniel Montgomery, Wayne Hass, Larry Bandixen, Kurt Kettelson, Jack Starbuck, Jim Robertson and Roger Farr. Marie was born on August 31, 1940, in De Witt, IA, the daughter of George and Louise (Roberts) Bandixen. She was Calamus High School graduate. She married Lyman Hass on June 3, 1962 in Clinton, Iowa. Marie was a homemaker. Marie was an elder and Sunday school teacher at Riverside Presbyterian Church. She belonged to the Women of Presbytery and was recently a member of First Presbyterian Church of Clinton. Marie was an avid traveler and stamper. She took great joy in reading, church work, her family and gardening. Survivors include husband, Lyman Hass of Camanche, IA; daughters, Kelli (James) Montgomery of Chicago and Julia (Steve) Helm of Clive, IA; grandchildren, Christopher and Daniel Montgomery and Mitchell and Rachel Helm; and one brother, Martin Bandixen. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Ellen Farr.
