Anne Kohlmeyer
To Marilyn and Family, My name is Anne Irey Kohlmeyer and I am your cousin. My father was Rex Irey, the younger brother of your dad. I just found out today that Aunt Marian passed away last November. My brother Roger and wife Carol went to see Aunt Marian at Alverno and they told them that she had passed away almost a year ago. We are so very sorry for your loss. I loved Aunt Marian---She was a very caring aunt. When I was very young my sister Connie and I went on the train from Monmouth, Illinois to visit Aunt Marian and Uncle Jack in Clinton and she showed us such a good time. We visited the school where she was teaching, showed us the sights of Clinton and paid special attention to the two of us (before you and Carolyn were born). The last time I saw Aunt Marian was on July 7th, 2016. All of my siblings were there with the exception of my brother Burgett. There was Connie, Anne, Roger, Kay and Lynn. She seemed so happy to see us and vice versa. We were on our way to Galena, IL for the wedding of Kay's granddaughter. We were amazed at how sharp Aunt Marian was at the age of 102. She had a wonderful memory and seemed good in spite of her failing eyesight. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Love, Anne
P.S.I live in Concord, CA.
