Margaret Wenzel's Obituary
Margaret L. Wenzel, 88, of Clinton, IA, died Friday, November 14, 2008, at her home. Funeral services will held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 18, 2008, at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Clinton Chapel. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert Wenzel III, Clayton Snell, Jerry Lohse, Alex Duhn, John Wenzel and David Schwartz. Margaret Louise Wenzel was born on March 16, 1920, in Clinton, IA, to Grover C. and Anna B. (Lane) Freeze. She was educated in the Clinton schools, graduating from Clinton High School in 1938. She married Robert E. Wenzel on June 22, 1941, in Clinton; he died on September 17, 1985. She was a homemaker, and also worked as a cook/manager for Longfellow Elementary School for 25 years until retiring in 1982. She is survived by two sons, Robert (Gail) Wenzel of Clinton and Dennis Wenzel of Denver, CO; one daughter, Susan (Gary) Duhn of Lakewood, Co; one brother, Jim (Jean) Schwartz of Denver, CO; 6 grandchildren: Elizabeth Lohse, Rebecca Jero, Christine Snell, Robert Wenzel III, Alex Duhn and Katie Duhn; and 9 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters, one brother, and one granddaughter in infancy. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, Clinton.
