Margaret "Polly" March's Obituary
Margaret M. "Polly" March, 94, of DeWitt and formerly of Clinton, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at West Wing Place, DeWitt. Memorial services will be held on February 14, 2015 at 1:30 PM at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 309 30th Avenue North, Clinton. The body has been cremated. Polly was born February 19, 1920 in Englewood, NJ, the daughter of George V. and Caroline (Corey) Morton. She was a graduate of Gilford College, Gilford, NC. She married Arthur William March, Jr. on June 22, 1946 in Demarest, New Jersey; he died April 3, 2013.
Polly was employed as a teacher in Indiana, Pennsylvania, Illinois and Iowa.
She was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church, the Methodist Federation for Social Action and the Gateway Peace Council.
Polly is survived by a daughter, Susan (Chuck) Creecy of Parkview, IA; three sons, Dan (Val) March of Reseda, CA; Robert (Mei) March of Olympia, WA and Kevin (Min Suh) March of Seoul, Korea; five grandchildren, Mary Corey (Christopher Saari) March, Ian Creecy, Sarah (Tim) Olsen, Edith March and Hugh March; three great-grandchildren, Zoey Creecy, Elise Saari and Tyler Olsen.
In addition to her husband, Polly was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, George Morton, Robert Morton and John Morton and three sisters, Elizabeth Morton, Edith Morton and Helen (Morton) Parsons.
