Margaret Eggers' Obituary
Margaret C. Eggers, 81, of Elvira, died Sunday, September 2, 2012 at her home.
Funeral Services will be 10:30am, Saturday, September 8, 2012 at Elvira Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. Jane Rothman officiating. Burial will follow in the Elvira Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be James Eggers, Stan Eggers, Jeff Eggers, Kevin Eggers, Dennis Eggers, and Michael Richards. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00-8:00pm at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory.
Margaret Caroline Ohrt was born on April 10, 1931 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Paul and Lottie (Schroeder) Ohrt. She married Robert Eggers on June 19, 1949 in Elvira; he died June 8, 2005.
Margaret was a 1949 graduate of Elvira High School; she was a homemaker. Margaret was a member of Elvira Zion Lutheran Church and served as treasurer of the Elvira Cemetery. She enjoyed her lawn and spending time with her grandchildren.
Margaret is survived by one son: Kenneth (Nancy) Eggers of Elvira; two daughters: Gail Johns of Rock Island, Illinois, and Janeen (Kevin) Varner of Camanche; 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
