Margaret Couppee's Obituary
Margaret "Peg" J. Couppee, 83 of Clinton died Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center North Campus, Clinton.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be 1:30pm, Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Scott Brown, Todd Brown, Christopher Couppee, Steven Gordon, Jacob Couppee, and Hudson Nyhart Couppee. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00-8:00pm at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory.
Margaret "Peg" Jane Mulroy was born on July 11, 1929 in Dubuque, Iowa the daughter of Thomas Francis and Marie Annetta (Parnell) Mulroy. She married Thomas W. Couppee on September 1, 1951 in Davenport; he died February 27, 1976.
Peg was a 1948 graduate of Davenport High School. She helped her husband operate McMahon Distributing. She also was manager of Taco Johns and Long John Silver. She also worked at the Clinton Country Club for many years.
Peg was a member of Prince of Peace Parish, the AMVETS and the Moose. She enjoyed wintering in Florida, following her beloved Iowa Hawkeyes, playing euchre, and spending time with her girlfriends and grandchildren.
Peg is survived by four sons: Thomas "Toup" (Pattie) Couppee of DeSoto, Missouri, Michael (Rae) Couppee of Clinton, Tony (Kenli) Couppee of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Daniel (Janine) Couppee of Davenport; two daughters: Susan (William) Wolever of DeWitt, and Jane (Don) Gordon of Davenport; 9 grandchildren, 13 step grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 13 step great grandchildren; and her sister: Marianna Laster of Davenport.
Peg was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brother.
Memorials can be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Foundation.
