Marcella R. Davis' Obituary
Marcella R. Davis, 86, of Clinton passed away Sunday, February 16, 2025 at her home.
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am, Thursday, February 20, 2025 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Clinton. Burial will be in the Springdale Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Zachery Davis, Ryne Davis, Adam Davis, Chris Schaefer, Matthew Davis and Andy Davis. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Marcella Rita Nolte was born February 14, 1939 in Fort Atkinson, Iowa, the daughter of John and Mary (Schneeberger) Nolte. She married Clifford “Junior” Davis on October 8, 1955 in Savanna, Illinois; he preceded her in death on July 13, 2001. She attended Savanna High School. She worked at the Wee School for four years and had her own daycare in her home prior to that for many years.
She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, enjoyed playing Bingo and cheering for the Chicago Cubs. More than anything she enjoyed time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Marcella is survived by her children: Peggy (Mark) Jacobsen of Clinton, Cynthia Davis of Clinton, Kathleen (Perry Tigges) Davis, Clifford Mark Davis of Clinton, Kevin (Carri) Davis of Marion, Iowa and Pete (Dawn Goodridge) Davis of Clinton; grandchildren: Aaron (Chris) Schaefer, Caley (Dallas Warren) Jacobsen, Becky (Tom) Davis-Petersen, Andy (Kelly) Davis, Stephanie (Kris) Tieso, Zachery Davis, Nicole Davis, Kevin Shawn Davis, Matthew Davis, Ryne (Nicole) Davis, Adam Davis; nine great grandchildren; siblings: Donald (Karen) Nolte of Savanna, Illinois and Robert (Connie) of Savanna, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son Steve Davis, grandson Christopher Davis, daughter-in-law Connie Davis, brother Ronald Nolte and sister Rose Mary Burand.
