Mae Desirey's Obituary
Mae Louise DeSirey, 91, of Minneapolis and formerly of Clinton, died Monday, February 18, 2008 at Walker Methodist Health Care Center in Minneapolis. Services will be Saturday, February 23, 2008 at 12:30pm at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 4pm to 7pm Friday, February 22, 2008 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Mae Louise Stockman was born February 25, 1916 in Nashville TN, the daughter of Herman and Clara Schrader Stockman. She graduated from the Nashville, TN Schools and attended the Watkins Business College. She had been employed as a cook at Whittier School for many years and as a secretary at Clinton Community College for eleven years, retiring in 1976. Mae married M. Leo DeSirey June 8, 1940 in Franklin, TN; he died November 28, 2005. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, the church circle and the Women of the Moose. Survivors include her son, Dennis W. DeSirey of Scottsdale, AZ; daughter, Jan DeSirey of Minneapolis, MN and 4 grandchildren. In addition to her husband her parents preceded her in death. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that a memorial in Mae's name be made to the Therapeutic Recreation department 2 Raines, at Walker Methodist Health Center. This group despite their extremely limited funding made mom's last two years enjoyable and uplifting.
