M. Brian Stokes, 87, of Camanche passed away Monday, April 15, 2019 at Prairie Hills Assisted Living & Memory Care – Clinton.

Maurice Brian Stokes was born December 17, 1931 in London, England, the son of Henry Charles and Constance May (Davey) Stokes. He married Margaret Ablett in Montreal Quebec, Canada on September 6, 1952. He served in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954. He earned his Associates Degree in Business Management from Black Hawk College. He was a hardworking man who worked as a regional manager for Barrows Enterprises in Camanche for many years.
Brian enjoyed gardening and golfing, but mostly he enjoyed time spent with his family especially his grandchildren.
Brian is survived by his loving wife Maggie Stokes of Camanche; two children: Brian (Beth) Stokes of Coal Valley, Illinois and Linda (Paul) Roling of Clinton; four grandchildren: Carey (Jason) Lundy, Colin (Kalie) Stokes, Sean (Xareni) Roling and Josh (Kathleen) Roling; nine great grandchildren: Claire, Michael, Caden, Kenlie, Kaysen, Thomas, Robert, William and Henry; one brother-in-law: David (Pauline) Ablett.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son: Steven Barry Stokes.
